The National Shield is an inter-club competition, open only to non-advanced photographers from affiliated clubs / societies in good standing with the Irish Photographic Federation.
The National Shield is competed for across 2 categories: Monochrome Digital and Colour Digital. The Shield is awarded to the club with the highest aggregate total score across the two categories. (Clubs may compete in any or both of these two categories). To compete, a club must submit eight images in each of the categories in which they wish to compete, and only one image per photographer per panel is allowed.
The judging for the Shield took place on November 14th '21 and what a result! Catchlight achieved - Top Colour Panel, Top Mono Panel and overall Top Club, winning the National Shield.
There were also individual awards for two of the clubs participants with Dave Schmidt taking a Gold Medal with his colour image "All The Earth" and Adrian Quinn received an Honourable Mention and an IPF Ribbon for his colour image "Dancer In Peach".
Congratulations to all of the participating Catchlight photographers and also to Laurie Campbell for all the hard work in coordinating and selecting the final panels.
